Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls

On July4th the Inn was lucky enough to have Mark Turner of Lorton, VA with us! Mark is currently walking across the American Discovery Trail in support of the non-profit organization Charity: Water. Mark is walking over 3000 miles in just under 10 months in his quest to raise awareness for the need for clean drinking water around the world.

At the Inn, we were very excited to provide a safe and dry place for Mark to spend the night. As Mark usually walks until dark and often has no other option than to sleep under a tree or pitch a make-shift tent for the night, this was an opportunity to help that we did not want to paass up!

We were happy to provide him with a warm and hearty dinner in our award-winning restaurant, while other guests showed their desire to help by purchasing him a brown bag lunch and extra bottles of water for the next day’s journey. Our housekeeping staff even offered to do laundry for him, illustrating how such small acts of kindness can affect someone attempting something much greater than those acts.
