Innkeepers in North Carolina

As we posted earlier, Innkeepers Ellen and Terry’s son, Benjamin, was a great help to the Inn throughout the summer and will be missed as he heads back to college. Well this week Ellen and Terry got the pleasure of dropping him off in North Carolina and then spending a few days visiting Inn’s in the beautiful state.

They were pleased to stay at the Pine Crest Inn in Tryon. Built in 1906 and a member of Select Registry Inns, the Inn proved to be the romantic, mountain escape that it promised to be. Evenings were spent casually with pizza and beer and the good company of Innkeeper Carl Claudle. Much time was spent discussing beekeeping, a hobby that both Carl and Terry are learning to enjoy.

Ellen and Terry were also happy to travel the mountainous area to Saluda and visit with Innkeeper Bob Thompson at The Orchard Inn. Also a member of Select Registry Inns, The Orchard Inn is located on 20 acres just at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and below the village of Saluda, whose entire downtown has been designated on the National Historic Registry. They were even able to make time for hiking and antiquing in this picturesque piece of America.

Ellen and Terry had a fun and relaxing time exploring the gorgeous state of North Carolina and are looking forward to their next visit!
