Dear Friends,
This month’s enewsletter is dedicated to all of you who have supported us during the past 25 years. It is hard to imagine that back in 1985 when my mother Anne Castle had a dream to build an inn, that we would be where we are today. Many of our guests know us by what Terry, our staff and I have created. But, as I’ve told many a travel writer, we wouldn’t be here without my mother’s dream and creation. Therefore, it is important to me that you know our story from whence we came.
The story behind our success at the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls is truly inspirational. The Inn began in 1985 as a vision of one person, Anne Castle, and was eventually brought into being in 1987 by the combined effort, talents and expertise of a whole cluster of people–people of differing backgrounds, differing ages, differing roles, differing lifestyles. But they shared one important commonality; they all were (or became) Anne’s friend and believed in the importance and validity of her dream.
Anne’s dream was to provide a place where the ever-growing number of urban dwellers could retreat to a natural setting, to leave–even for a short time–lives increasingly removed from our necessary but overlooked partnership with the land. With nature. With the earth. And, still today, this remains part of our mission. Our Inn has grown and continues to be successful because of our staff and our guests. What began as the vision of Anne has evolved into a community of caring, loving and giving people. Terry and I, thank you.
We invite all of you, old friends and new ones, local residents and guests from afar to join us for an afternoon of celebration on Sunday, August 19 from 1:00-4:00pm. A great way to spend a leisurely summer afternoon enjoying food and fun with us. Just come, no need to RSVP. For those wanting to spend the night on Sunday, we are offering a 25% discount commemorative of our 25 year celebration.
And, if you want to “kick off our celebration”, join us Saturday night, August 18 as returning Inn Guest Chef Michael Braddock prepares a scrumptious menu.
