Spring Is In The Air In The Hocking Hills

March 9th, 2010 by Innkeeper, Inn & Spa At Cedar Falls

We are starting to see the first signs of spring in the hills, but this would not be complete without the ‘harbinger of spring’, the American Woodcock.

For all enthusiasts who don’t want to miss its beautiful and unique show, just down the road from the Inn, at the Hocking Hills State Park, bird watchers will be given the unique opportunity to observe the elaborate courtship rituals of the American Woodcock. On Friday, March 19th,at 7:30pm, meet a naturalist on the Expedition Trail just behind the Naturalists Office. Bring your binoculars and experience the zigzagging, banking, musical flight of this bird.

Have delicious dinner in the restaurant before you head down to the park, and return for a cozy evening in one of our cottages or cabins. Spring is indeed in the air!
