July Inn News

July 7th, 2011 by Innkeeper, Inn & Spa At Cedar Falls

Dear Friends,

Business is booming.  We’ve had a great summer start and it looks like it’s going to continue.  In fact, we are so busy that we are hiring in all departments.  Just in case you live close by or know of anyone job hunting!!

Summer fun continues in the Hocking Hills.  Don’t miss Lilyfest from July 8-10.  Beautiful gardens are landscaped in the woods.  Juried artists showcase their wares.   Our first Wine/Beer Fest is July 23 from 2-5pm.  Test our favorite selection of wines and beers.  Live entertainment from our Sous Chef, Gerard Shay, and his band.  There are a few openings left for Chef Anthony’s Summer Dessert CookInn class.  We are hosting a special Sales Development Program presented by Murray Associates on August 25-26.  All meals and lodging are included in the package. It is limited to 12 participants on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested call Murray Associates at 614-873-7227 to register. See the complete calendar of events here.

Don’t forget swimming is an option for our guests.  If you prefer the beach, try Lake Logan.  If a pool suits you better, our friends at Old Man’s Cave Chalets have graciously allowed our guests access.  We even provide the towels for you.

Weddings and Family

A news update for Ellen and Terry’s family.  Son Benjamin is home from North Carolina State for a few weeks.  This fall he will continue his co-op in Civil Engineering.  Daughter Sarah just became engaged to Nick Bertrams.  We are excited to have Nick join our family.  The wedding, which will not be at the inn due to its large size, will be in the fall of 2012. Speaking of weddings, the Inn has hosted several of them this summer.  We can accommodate any size up to 50 in The Gathering Place and 20 on the Rooftop Garden.

Innkeeper News

Innkeeper Ellen has been traveling as her responsibilities increase with her upcoming 2012 appointment as the President for Select Registry.  The board is involved in adopting the Carver Board Governance model.  In preparation, the committee met in New Jersey last week at the Candlelight Inn.  In early August, Ellen will travel to Marshall, MI which is the home office for Select Registry.  She will stay at the National House Inn during that time.

Enjoy the rest of your summer.  Try to stop in for a cold glass of lemonade or mug of ice cold beer.  See you soon.
