The Hocking Hills of Ohio abounds with monthly events and festivals. Festivals, art shows, music fairs and events for the entire family. Visit the Hocking Hills Tourism Association a full list. But some of our favorites are:
18 Annual Winter Hike
Six miles of rugged hiking in the coldest days of January seeing the park in a frozen transformation. Hikers must be at the starting point between 9 am and 11 am which will be near the Visitor Center Parking Lot at Old Man’s Cave on State Route 664. Park officials will provide return transportation from Ash Cave to Old Man’s Cave following the event.
25-27 Shoot the Hills Photography Competition
This photography weekend includes a variety of photography programs, including presentations from NANPA members. The contest is open to pros and amateurs alike. All proceeds are used to build and maintain photo-friendly wildlife blinds and habitats within the Park. More than $5,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to winners at the conclusion of the 3-day photography event.
12-14 Washboard Music Festival
Every year, on Father’s Day weekend, the downtown streets of Logan, Ohio come alive with the celebration of the washboard, as a musical instrument. Music, crafts from local artisans, kids rides food, tours of the Washboard factory and much more.
Over 70 area artists display, demonstrate and sell their products. There are three acres of artistically designed gardens, ponds and garden sculptures. Professional horticulturalists, O.S.U. Master Gardeners and Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists help with questions on plant growing, maintenance and critter control. Entertainment provided by a variety of musical groups. Special tours for persons with disabilities.
