Guest Chefs Dinner w/ Eric “Michael” Braddock & Adrienne Novak

August 18

Join us August 18 for a special dinner featuring guest chefs Adrienne Novak and Michael Braddock, owners of Eban Bakery, specializing in gluten-free breads and baked goods. They bring an exciting menu that will be sure to whet your appetite. A sneak preview of some of the amazing items on the menu include Ohio Sweet Corn Soup with Snowville Creamery Milk, Chorizo-Crusted Diver Sea Scallops, Cinnamon-Dusted Pork Chops and Walnut Layer Torte.

Chef Adrienne comes to us with almost 20 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry.  She graduated with honors and earned an associate’s degree in applied science from the American Culinary Federation-accredited Chef Apprenticeship program at Columbus State Community College and was named the National Junior Culinarian of the Year at the National ACF Conference in New York City in 1995. She is also the recipient of numerous awards from professional and student hot food competitions, including the Bauer & Foss Food and Wine Affinity competition which earned her a trip to wine country in Northern California. One of Adrienne’s passions is traveling.  She has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean.  Experiencing the foods and cultures of every country, region and city she visits has shaped her culinary style and her continuing educational and professional growth.  In addition to her degree in the culinary arts, Adrienne also has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kent State University and was a recipient of a 3-year ROTC scholarship.  She is a veteran of the Gulf War where she served as a Transportation Corps platoon leader in the Army and received a promotion to the rank of captain and an honorable discharge upon leaving the military to pursue a career as a professional chef.

Chef Michael is from St. Augustine, Florida where he attended the Southeast Institute of Culinary Arts. He launched his career as executive chef at the Greyfield Inn, Cumberland Island, Georgia. He also worked at the Rivers Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Fifty-Five Restaurant Group, Columbus, Ohio, and the Inn at Cedar Falls, Logan, Ohio. Chef Braddock spent 2001 and 2002 on the Grand Bahamas Island as a private chef and consultant. While in the Bahamas, he found a love for cooking Caribbean cuisine. In his career, he has prepared dinners for some very important people including John F. Kennedy Jr., Isabella Rosalini, Robert Duvall, Sammy Davis Jr., Helen Reddy, Crystal Gayle, Joe Satriani, Katarina Witt, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Eric Clapton. Chef Braddock has been featured in numerous articles including the New York Times, Palm Beach Post, Cincinnati Post, Florida Magazine, Ohio Weekly, the Columbus Dispatch, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Chef Magazine, Pittsburgh post Gazette, and Food Arts Magazine. You may have seen Chef Michael on television. He has appeared in several television shows including NBC-owned Channel 4 in Columbus, Ohio; The Special Sunday Morning Christmas Show, Christmas Special; 5 episodes of House and Garden TV Show, 25 half hour episodes of Columbus Cooks; and CBS- owned KDKA- TV Dave Crawley KD Country show, Pittsburgh. Chef Michael has won several awards and was picked as one of five Celebrated Chefs in America by the National Pork Producers and Kendall Jackson winery.

Wine & Beer Fest

July 21 & September 29, 2-5pm

Join in the fun for our summer and fall Wine & Beer Fest in The Gathering Place on Saturday, July 21st and Saturday, September 29th from 2-5pm. Come test and taste wines and beers for $5/ Ticket or $20/5 tickets. Join Matthew from Rockmill Brewery and wine expert Steve Gifford. Light appetizers include Artisanal Cheeses & Dried Fruits, Marinated Hanger Steak w/Sweet Corn Salsa on Crostini or Marinated Vegetable Plate. Retail shopping will be available. No reservations needed, park at The Gathering Place.

Our winter Wine TasteInn on February 24 will feature Obscure Wines of the World & Up and Coming Varietals and fall wines TasteInn on November 9 will feature wines from California. Learn a little, drink a little and laugh a lot!! Each evening begins at 6:00pm with appetizers and your first pour.  Cost is $75/person.
