These Are the Best Way to See Hocking Hills Fall Foliage
One of our favorite parts about Ohio in the fall is the changing of the leaves. The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls is surrounded on three sides by Hocking Hills State Park, so our entire property is lit up with the spectacular colors of autumn. The cool air and Hocking Hills fall foliage makes this the perfect time to explore the area. Wrap yourself in a cozy sweater, get into the autumn spirit with a cup of cider or pumpkin pie, stargaze at our outdoor firepit, and come see the incredible beauty of this season.
How to Enjoy Hocking Hills Fall Foliage
Hiking and Biking
There are plenty of opportunities for hiking in the Hocking Hills, especially when you want to see the fall foliage. Immerse yourself in the changing leaves when you embark on any of the trails in our area. No matter what level you are, there is a trail for you.
While there are a number of paths to choose from, we suggest the 2.5-mile Conkles Hollow Rim Trail. This route leads to the highest cliffs in the area and offers a breathtaking view of the treetops below. Order a brown bag lunch from our restaurant to eat at the top; you’ll love relaxing above the trees. If you plan to explore by bike, take the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. This scenic path traces a twisting 20-mile course from Athens to Nelsonville along the Hocking River. Both routes provide ample opportunities for sightseeing, so don’t forget your camera!
Seeing the Hocking Hills fall foliage from your car is another excellent option. Trees line many of the roads here, and there are foliage routes already mapped out for you to enjoy! If you’d like to hop in your car or motorcycle and explore on a whim, there is really no wrong place to drive. Plan your route with a lunch stop at Kindred Spirits, our restaurant. Plus, you won’t want to miss the Apple House in Laurelville; it boasts the best apple cider in the entire state!
A Ropes Course
Hang and climb amongst the changing leaves when you challenge yourself to a ropes course at R Adventure Park! Depending on your level of comfort, you can be as high as the treetops on some of the 64 challenges here. The crisp autumn air makes this the perfect time to exert a little more energy, and you’ll get up close and personal with the changing leaves.
