The Nature of Life: Inner Voice~Inner Light

October 27-29
Drawing from a tapestry of many and varied nature-inspired experiences and multi-cultural expressions, we explore the vast richness of the Nature of Life. Facilitating this journey of one’s Inner Voice and Inner Light, we balance individual solitude as well as a supportive and sacred gathering.

Framed by the creative arts, Stephen and Shawna integrate threads of poetry, physical movement, indigenous storytelling and ceremony, along with the lingual expression of one’s life development in order to open the doors for renewal, release, and transformation.

Held in the heart of the Hocking Hills of southeastern Ohio, where the land itself invites the deepest of retreat experiences. Time for hiking, exploring, resting, and serendipitous journeys, one is introduced to some of the countries most sacred land.

Indeed, the hills are alive with music, as retreatants experience the music and talents of fellow sacred circle members. This has included singers, Native American flute playing, guitar players, poetry Bards’ and drumming circles.

Our experience is enriched by the beauty and comfort of the Inn and Spa at Cedar Falls. Everything from the Gathering Room, to the Fireplace Room, the spa, and the dining room, become our home away from home.

The staff’s support and the Inn Keepers hospitality have made this a Four Star Member of the Select Registry of Distinguished Inns of North America.

My father & I have been using the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls for our annual October Yoga and Poetry retreat since 2008. We hope we never need to move it anywhere else! Our retreat participants fill out an evaluation after each retreat and one thing they always LOVE is the Inn itself! My father and I feel the same.  We have a special relationship with the Inn, Ellen and Terry, Randy and to the land itself.

The Sacred land of the Hocking Hills has special energy and magic.  Rich history is in this land and it has a vibration that can be deeply felt. To walk through Old Man’s Cave, upon the earth next to Rose Lake, or sit in the canyon at Conkle’s Hollow, they are all experiences that MUST be taken any time of year!

The entire staff at the Inn is professional and supportive. They respond to any needs that come up, and will make sure your event runs smoothly.   The kitchen staff and especially Anthony, the head chef, are more than accommodating.  Special food needs are taken care of and your taste buds will be more than happy!

Clean facilities are a no-brainer.  If you need something, just ask. An easel, chalk, knowledge for music set-up…it all there, so you can focus on your event. And that kind of peace of mind is priceless.

Then, there is the spa! Enjoy a multitude of amazing body, mind, and spirit healing modalities from which to choose. This is a great addition for any retreat attendee.

When it comes to the space; the Gathering Place, the Fireside Lounge and the Fire Pit at the top of the hill (under thousands of stars) are unbeatable. The Gathering Place can easily accommodate 18 yoga practitioners plus the teacher smoothly walking around students to assist. To look out at the woods and have an immediate connection with Mother Nature herself is so grounding and centering. The peace and quiet of the atmosphere lends itself to yoga, meditation, and many other practices. And the best part, all of these spaces are within walking distance from all of the accommodations; the rooms, cottages, and the cabins.

The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls is the perfect place for any retreat!~Shawna & Stephen Emmerick
