$150 Cupping is an ancient technique used to break up energy blockages in the body. A partial vacuum is created in special cups that are placed on the skin. The suction and negative pressure draw up the skin to: drain excess fluids, loosen adhesions and connective tissue, increase blood flow, and stimulate the peripheral nervous system. As the cups are moved up and down the back, the experience is similar to a deep massage. Cupping therapy allows fresh nutrients to get into deep tissue. It also helps the body release toxins and activates the lymphatic system to promote healing.
$100 (available by appointment only) Craniosacral Therapy (CST) has been around since the early 1900’s. It is the foundation of the Osteopathic profession. Using about 5 grams of pressure (the weight of a nickel), movements of the bones of the head and spine are monitored for symmetry and amplitude. Gentle holding, rocking, traction and gliding movements ensure that the bones surrounding the central nervous system are moving and not stuck. The improved circulation of cerebrospinal fluid inside the bones which cushion the brain and spine helps to nourish, cleanses, and relax the nerves. The procedure is very subtle and may serve as an introduction to the meditative state.
$100   Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.” A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
