With an extensive network of scenic byways and country roads, Ohio is a motorcycle rider’s dream come true. This scenic state is dotted with rolling green hills, dense forests, and wide open meadows that provide the perfect backdrop for a relaxing cruise. Just minutes from the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls, guests can hop on a Harley and enjoy the wind in their hair and the unparalleled magic of the open road. Here are some of our favorite motorcycle routes in Ohio.
Explore These Motorcycle Routes in Ohio
1. Tail of the Dragon
Stretching for 20 miles along State Route 78, the Tail of the Dragon offers a spectacular ride between the rural farm towns of Glouster and McConnelsville in southeastern Ohio. Riders can enjoy views of century-old farm homes, gentle, winding turns, and a variety of elevation changes. Both Burr Oak State Park and Wayne National Forest are located along this route, so be sure to keep your eyes open for native wildlife.
2. The Triple Nickle
If you’re looking for a longer cruise, try the Triple Nickle (OH 555) for 2-4 hours of challenging twists and turns. Starting in Zanesville, OH, riders can tackle 63 miles of sharp curves and blind turns that are sure to make you smile – and sweat! You’ll ride over rolling hills and through a few small towns, with smooth, black pavement leading the way. There are patches of gravel on the sides of the road that can be very dangerous for bikers, so take this route at a slow speed and enjoy the scenery.
3. Hocking Hills Scenic Byway
Located just steps from our inn, the Hocking Hills Scenic Byway runs through Hocking County and is one of the most popular motorcycle routes in Ohio. Most of the road is smooth and paved, and there are a number of tight corners that are well-marked. You’ll enjoy roller coaster-like hills and twists, with very little traffic during the week. This route also cuts through Hocking Hills State Park, so you can stop and hike to popular area attractions like Ash Cave and Conkle’s Hollow.
Visit the Hocking Hills Motorcycle Ranch
Before you start your journey, be sure to stop by the Hocking Hills Motorcycle Ranch where you can browse a wide selection of gear, gifts, accessories, and more for any make/model bike. The Ranch also hosts Biker Days, swap meets, and poker runs, and the side porch is a great place to take a break and hang out. The Ranch is located in the Hocking Hills Market at the intersection of US Highway 33 and Route 374.
