Explore These Motorcycle Routes in Ohio
1. Ohio’s Dragon’s Tail
Ohio’s Dragon’s Tail stretches for 20 beautiful miles along State Route 78. Ride between the rural farm towns of Glouster and McConnelsville in southeastern Ohio for a relaxing, peaceful drive. Riders can enjoy views of century-old farm homes, gentle, winding turns, and a variety of elevation changes. Both the Burr Oak State Park and the Wayne National Forest are along this route, so be sure to keep your eyes open for native wildlife.
2. The Triple Nickel
If you’re looking for a longer cruise, try the Triple Nickel (OH 555) for an hour of challenging twists and turns. Starting in Zanesville, riders can tackle 36 miles of sharp curves and blind turns that are full of gorgeous views. You’ll ride over rolling hills and through a few small towns with smooth, black pavement leading the way. There are patches of gravel on the sides of the road that can be very dangerous for bikers, so take this route at a slow speed and enjoy the scenery.
3. The Hocking Hills Scenic Byway
The Hocking Hills Scenic Byway is known for being one of the most scenic drives in our area, and it’s right out our front door! Most of the road is smooth and paved, and there are a number of tight corners that are well-marked. You’ll enjoy rollercoaster-like hills and twists, with very little traffic during the week. This route also cuts through Hocking Hills State Park, so you can stop and hike to popular area attractions like Ash Cave and Conkle’s Hollow. When you ride it, you’ll be able to see why it is one of the most popular motorcycle routes in Ohio!
