Each of our twelve cottages sit nestled along a peaceful lane on two wooded acres, each offering a charming escape for one or two in the heart of Hocking Hills. Each cozy retreat features a private deck perfect for savoring morning coffee and views of the surrounding wildlife. Inside, you’ll find thoughtful amenities like a gas log stove, microwave, coffee pot, and under-counter refrigerator. After a day of exploring, relax in your indoor whirlpool tub for two, and embrace a true disconnect—these cottages are blissfully free of televisions, allowing you to unwind fully in nature’s tranquility.Sumac Cottage is ADA compliant which includes a low bed height, ample space, even flooring, and a shower with a handrail for ease of navigation.

Our cottages are located on the main property of The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls, directly across the road and just a short walk from our on-site restaurant, Kindred Spirits, as well as the spa and gift shop. Guests can reach the main lower parking lot via a wooden stairway or drive down Cottage Lane to park in either the main or spa lot. Centrally positioned, our cottages provide easy access to all Hocking Hills attractions, with nearby trails only 5–20 minutes away by car—the closest being Cedar Falls and Rose Lake, just a half-mile away.
Sumac is not pet friendly; registered service dogs welcome
Each Cottage is designed with a similar layout, so most guests choose based on personal preferences like location along the lane, pet-friendly availability, entrance accessibility with or without stairs, and whether they prefer a king-size or twin beds.

It was a wonderful place. We celebrated our 21st anniversary. It was secluded and so nice. We enjoyed the fireplace and the tub. The kindred spirits breakfast that was included was the best included breakfast we have ever had at any place we have ever stayed. The people were friendly and the environment was amazing.

Love the Cottage - Sumac
First time visiting Hocking Hills. We truly enjoy our stay from arrival to departure! Cottage was perfect. Restaurant was so good and all our wait staff were Excellent. We will be back!

Wonderful!
The Sumac cottage was very cozy and clean! Even the porch was well maintained and welcoming!And the breakfast was delicious... as was dinner at Kindred Spirits.Everyone was very professional and sweet! We would highly recommend!

The best place to stay in Hocking!
Food in the middle of nowhere that is excellent! Plenty of good choices too no matter your diet preferences! We love the little cottages with the giant jet tub. We keep asking ourselves why we didn't try this place sooner. Our second visit and the only place we will stay each year going forward for our Anniversary (Married in Ash Cave 40 years ago) We will prob try to get our first cottage again due to the bed at the Sumac is way too soft for our backs, but another wonderful stay. Thanks to you all for keeping this place great!

Awesome Accomodations
Not only were our accomodations [cottage] outstanding, but so was Dawn in accommodating us. She moved us last minute from one of their remote properties at our request to Sumac without even asking why. She worked with management and housekeeping and within 15 mins everything was arranged!! Thank you!!

Wonderful Weekend
What an amazing weekend! We arrived Saturday night and stayed in the Sumac Cottage which was adorable. Breakfast both days was BEYOND our expectations (shout out to the cooks- y'all were hysterical and THANK YOU for the delish ranch!). The spa was perfect (shout out to Jessica and Kori! Give these ladies a bonus- we have NEVER had a spa treatment that good!) I cannot say enough good things about our stay with y'all. We are hoping to bring our hubbies next time to share the wonderful experience with them. We are so excited to come back!
