The 4 Best Spots for Hocking Hills Swimming

1. Lake Hope State Park

Lake Hope State Park offers visitors countless things to do. Spend the morning hiking, biking, fishing, or boating, and finish off the day by cooling off on the swimming beach. The scenic area is complete with a beach house, concession stand, and sun deck. Take a dip in the lake’s calm waters and feel instantly refreshed!

2. Logan State Park

Lake Logan State Park is home to one of the area’s best fishing lakes, but it’s also a great place for swimming in the Hocking Hills. The swimming beach is located on the north side of the lake, and it is a beautiful place to cool off while enjoying the park’s lovely views.

Restrooms are available, but there is no concession stand, so be sure to bring a brown bag lunch from Kindred Spirits to the park.

3. Tar Hollow State Park

Take a trip to Tar Hollow State Park and spend the afternoon swimming in Pine Lake. The 500-foot unguarded beach does not allow pets, but swimming is permitted in marked areas. There are no public facilities at Pine Lake, so plan to pick up a brown bag lunch before your trip.

4. Lake Alma State Park

Lake Alma State Park, just half an hour south of the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls, has two swimming beaches that are open to the public. The beaches are on the north side of the lake and swimming is permitted here during daylight hours only. A concession stand, parking, and bathrooms are provided. While pets are not allowed in the bathing beach area, there is a separate dog swim area for furry friends to cool off as well.
